Dockworker Crushed Between Containers At Container Yard [Portsmouth, UK ~ 25 August 2017]

While media accounts (see below) have been somewhat short in providing circumstantial information with regard to this accident thus far, we understand that Mieczyslaw ‘Mitch’ Siwak, a thirty-four year old dock worker in the employ of MMD Shipping Services and serving as a “container park operator“, was crushed between two containers during operations at the firm’s Flathouse Quay last Friday evening. He died of the resultant injuries.

The following Sunday, it is reported that police arrested a thirty-five year old man associated with the operation and charged him “suspicion of perverting the course of justice and theft.” The obvious inference, is that the man placed under arrest removed evidence from the accident scene.

We’re anticipating the receipt of further information from friends in UK, and when that information arrives we will update this post.
